Welcome to Te Rerenga School

Ma te huruhuru ka rere te manu

Adorn the bird with feathers to enable it to fly.

Te Rerenga School is a thriving little school situated on State Highway 25. Children who attend our school come from the coastal communities of Coromandel Town, Whangapoua, Matarangi, Kuaotunu, Wharekaho, Whitianga and everywhere in-between! We have 121 children on our roll and 5 classrooms.

Our school families value our small, rural location. They choose to send their children here because we are a school that cares about children and a place where every child matters. We are a school that has a strong sense of community, a shared culture and vision where every child is recognised as an individual. Families choose our school for their child because they want them to learn as well as be confident and happy in an environment where both teachers and older students care for the younger students.

Our school families value our strong learning and inclusive culture. We have a holistic, caring environment where children feel safe and happy so that they can learn. Children are heard, valued and considered throughout our school. We have excellent communication with our school community and our families know that they are heard, valued and considered throughout our school.

Learning is what we do at Te Rerenga School and our families see us do this in a holistic way for their children
